Recruiting and retaining employees is a challenge in all areas of public works employee classifications. During this program, we will review the current state of the workforce within the operations and maintenance sector of public works. Recruitment and retention strategies and new efforts some agencies are employing will be explored. Discussion will include a review of resources specific to public works agencies aimed at helping others find viable solutions for increasing their agency operations and maintenance staff recruitment and retention success.
