The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has a workforce of more than 55,000 employees worldwide in its 10 Operating Administrations (OA). These OAs have independent procurement authority and missions and procure approximately $7.3 billion a year in goods and services. DOT works continuously to ensure that small businesses are included in those annual procurement numbers.
The Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) mission is to ensure that small business concerns have maximum practicable opportunities to participate in DOT procurement opportunities as prime contractors and subcontractors. The (OSDBU) established the Small Business Transportation Resource Centers (SBTRCs) through a network of grantees across the country. SBTRCs provide various technical assistance needs to build the capacity of small and disadvantaged businesses.
The Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) in collaboration with the Small Business Administration (SBA) Surety Bond Guarantee Program and OSDBU’s Northwest Region Small Business Transportation Resource Center (SBTRC) will host a webinar to provide small businesses nationwide an opportunity to hear about Surety Bonding from the SBA Office of Surety Guarantees, the US DOT Bonding Education Program, and regional SBTRC affiliates. This webinar will be on June 23rd at 2:00PM EDT. Please register by COB June 21st, 2021.
