Facebook Small Business Grants Program for Black-Owned Businesses

Facebook is dedicating over $40 million of their $100 million investment in the Black community in the US to ~10,000 U.S Black-owned businesses. This includes cash and ad credits to support Black-owned small businesses. The program is accepting applications until August 31st at 6pm Pacific Time.

2021-2023 Community Capital Facilities Building Communities Fund Grant

The Building Communities Fund Grant awards state matching funds to nonprofit, community-based organizations to defray up to 25% or more of eligible capital costs to acquire, construct or rehabilitate nonresidential community and social service centers. Things to Know About SBA COVID-19 Emergency Loan Programs as of August 8, 2020

Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL)

– The online application is  open for all eligible small businesses and agri-businesses

– SBA is continuing to process and fund applications, received approximately 10 million to date.

– The $20 Billion appropriated for the EIDL Advance (grant) of $1000 per employee up to $10,000 max has been exhausted.  By law, SBA can no longer disburse funds for this program. 

– SBA has now approved nearly 4 million EIDL loans.  Nearly all of them were approved in just the past couple weeks.  You will receive an email from SBA asking you to  login.  For security reasons, hover your curser over the email address to ensure its really from SBA

SBA Issues New Regulations for Women-Owned Small Business Federal Contracting Program

Starting July 15, 2020, SBA will begin to implement changes consistent with the Small Business Act as amended in the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2015. In addition to the certification requirement for firms seeking WOSB and EDWOSB set-aside contracts, the regulations detail certification options for applicants and require authorized third-party certifiers to notify applicants of their fees and the option to use SBA’s free online certification process.
