Description: The City of Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is requesting proposals from qualified consultant teams to assist in developing and evaluating options to prevent the harmful results of a potential seismic fail of Cascades Dam.
The Consultant Team is expected to develop options and draft an options analysis report within twelve months of receiving all information regarding the facility’s existing condition. The report must include permanent and temporary mitigation options and accurate cost estimates to retrofit an earthfill dam to a higher design standard. The ideal team must be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the drinking water quality aspects of SPU’s commitment to maintain delivery of high quality drinking water to its customers through an emergency situation. SPU will use the options analysis to select a preferred option for design and construction.
