Pre-Proposal Meeting: A pre-proposal meeting will be held at Tacoma Municipal Building, 747 Market Street, Room 148, February 25, 2020, at 10:00 AM.
Project Scope: The City of Tacoma, Public Works Department, Engineering Division, intends to procure a Consulting Firm to provide materials testing and inspection services in support of the Taylor Way Rehabilitation Project and the Fawcett Avenue / S 21st Street Project. This work may include, but is not limited to, soil, crushed rock, asphalt, concrete, compaction testing, asphalt compaction testing, concrete testing, and all associated reporting. The work provided by the Consulting Firm should include all necessary materials testing and inspection services warranted by the project plans. Taylor Way testing will generally comply with the Record of Materials, but will vary based on the Contractor’s sequencing and sourcing. Testing methods and frequency should meet WSDOT requirements. The construction manager and/or lead inspector may request additional testing on a case-by-case basis. Plans, specifications and other supporting documents for both projects are posted on the City’s website.
